I am one of those people that LOVES New Year’s Resolutions. We are already a week into 2018 and what better way to kick off the new year than being expired by our goals and dreams? As a lot of you may know, 2017 was a really big year for me. I got engaged to the love of my life and became a new mom, which has hands down been the biggest (and best!) thing to ever happen to me. With the coming year, I have been doing a lot of reflecting on what I want from 2018, and I’ve come up with some pretty big aspirations.
I pretty much have at least one thing in every aspect of my life that I’d like to change or try something new. Some of them may seem impossible, or like I am setting myself up for failure. The way I look at it now is life is too short to have small goals. I understand the idea of creating small “attainable” goals in theory, but if you purposefully limit yourself to goals that you think are “attainable” and ignore your true passions, then I think you are cheating yourself.
With that being said, here are some of my resolutions.
Read More Books
2017 was such a hectic time that I really neglected my bookshelf. It got so bad that I refused to buy any more books until I gave the ones I had already bought some attention. I have always been someone who’s loved reading and bought books upon books without a second thought. This year I want to simply read more, and revert back to the book nerd that I once was.
Make Healthy a Habit
I have never been “healthy”. I want to make this year about improving my health. Physically I want to be stronger, and I am determined to workout every week at least 3x per week. That seems like a daunting task to some people, but as someone who has fallen in and out of the working out routine, it has to become more of a priority for me to be able to see the results that I want. I get married in 6 months and am really motivated to look better than ever from here on out. With that, I also am determined to just make healthier choices when it comes to food. I refuse to diet this year, but instead, opt for healthier choices in place of my usual bullshit diet.
Expand my Audience & Community
I started this blog with the hopes to really connect with other people like me. This year, I want to make that a reality. By interacting with my readers I will get a better sense of what YOU want, and in turn, learn and grow right along with you.
Taking my time
2017 felt like it flew by. I created so many beautiful memories with my family and I want to do the same in 2018, but this time I want it to go a little slower. I want to be there for every moment and take the time to make things better. Too often we find ourselves rushing through the days and weeks and going through the motions. This year, I want to put an end to that for the sake of myself and my family.
I love the start of new years. It’s just the fresh start that I need to kick off the next 12 months right. I try my best to improve myself every year and one of the best ways to do that is by setting goals for yourself. There’s just something so refreshing about a new year and I’m so excited to start this one with you guys.
