Another month has passed, and here we are again with a 6-month update for Camden. Technically he turned 6 months on the 3rd, but better late than never, right?
My baby is already half a year old! Pretty soon he will be walking around and getting into everything. And of course, me being me, I already had to start a Pinterest board dedicated to ideas for his 1st birthday party. I am just so darn excited! Just this past month alone it is crazy how much he has grown. I couldn’t help myself this time around when it came to his 6-month pictures, they had to be Christmas themed! And who doesn’t love baby legs and Christmas lights?
Cam just had his 6 month appointment at the pediatricians a couple of days ago, and he’s only up half a pound and half of an inch from the last time we were there. His doc says he is following the curve just fine and there’s no need to be worried. But I’m his mother, of course, I worry. He just seems so huge to me, so to see he is on the lower end of the percentile for both height and weight is a little strange.
He now weighs 16 pounds 2 oz and is 25.5 in tall. We now have the go-ahead to start feeding him baby foods, so now is the time for me bust out the green beans and figure out how to use my food processor.
Camden can sit up now on his own for a few seconds at a time. It is so cool to watch him sit up and play with his toys, and seeing my little baby develop more and more into the person he is every day. He laughs all of the time, especially when I sing his name to him. He can also turn his head in response to his name and smiles so big at me whenever I say it, so I think he is liking it!
Cam also likes to stick his tongue out all of the time and has started to do this slight little fake cough thing. Just the other day I learned that he is TERRIFIED of the vacuum cleaner. It never seemed to bother him before, but when I was tidying up the living room last week this boy started balling like a monster was coming to eat him, poor guy.
So far, 6 months has been my favorite with this little guy. He is so happy all of the time and is so interactive. My heart swells up with so much joy when I see him reaching for his toys and playing on his little Fisher Price Piano. He keeps scooting himself under our tree and trying to grab at the presents we have waiting under there for him. I cannot wait for Christmas with Cam, it is going to be the most special one for our family yet!
I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Holidays!
