It may not come off as much of a surprise, but I love makeup. Unfortunately, since becoming a mom, I don’t have as much time to do it in the mornings as I used to, but when I do I have a blast. Something about making myself look like my best helps me feel like my best. Now I am no makeup artist by any means. When I was in middle school, I taught myself to do my own makeup by spending endless hours watching YouTube beauty gurus. It has just always been something that has intrigued me. But if you’re interested to know what some of my favorite makeup products are, keep reading!
Foundation & Concealer
When it comes to foundation and Concealer I have been using the Sephora Brand. This foundation matches me super well and it does not seem to wear off my face as much as I have had other foundations do. Typically I always put on a little concealer under my eye area even if I’m not wearing foundation. I always set my face with the Maybelline Fit Me Powder.
I love contouring my face. Typically am always wearing some sort of bronzer to sculpt out my cheekbones. I have been loving the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer . It smells just like chocolate! If I want to give my contour and extra bronzy boost I will use the Benefit liquid bronzer right over my foundation, and then set it with more bronzer. Lately, when it comes to blush I have been wearing this light pink blush from Estee Lauder. Blush is one of those take it or leave it things for me and is not something I typically will wear every day.
Usually, when doing my eye makeup, I prefer to go for a more natural look. Just a little curl of my lashes with some mascara and I’m set. But when I do end up doing an eyeshadow look I find myself always reaching for my limited edition Gwen Stefani Urban Decay palette. This has got to be one of my most favorite palettes. The colors are SO gorgeous, and I find myself wearing a lot of the golden/champagney shadows. I love to smoke out my eyeshadow with a little bit of dark brown or black shadow and then line my upper waterline with a black eyeliner.
Mascara is something that I wear every single day and I tend to switch up my mascara often. I just recently bought a sample size of theEstee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Mascara, and let me just say this is a game changer for me. It makes my lashes look so long and wispy, it is honestly the best mascara I have ever used. For eyebrows, I don’t usually spend too much time on my them. For the most part, I just pluck any stray hairs and fill them in with a little bit of powder and I’m on my way.
I really like how lipstick looks, it just is not something that I find myself wearing that often. For one, Alden hates it. I don’t really blame him. It can be a pain to put on and wear around, especially when you have a baby grabbing at your face all day. My mouth area is also super sensitive and I have been prone to break out after a day of lipstick-wearing. But on the off day when I do decide to wear it, I like to go for the more bright pink, mauve-nude and wine colored tones. Typically a chapstick is about the extent of any lip products I may use. I prefer the natural color of my lips more anyway.
